I gave her a box of mixed noodles and beans one night, along with my muffin tin, and we (she) sorted them out into the cups.
And one day after playing in the beautiful sunshine we had, she came in and wanted to build something else. I'm not really sure what she was building here, but they looked like triple seesaws. I really just wanted to capture the sagging pants and rolled up shirt. She's such a ham.
When schools starts back on July 7, I think she'll be ready to work on her alphabet tree and some letter of the week activities. I'll be much more prepared the coming year than I am currently. =)
Just for fun......We're not allowed to say the "F" word here.....you know, "fart", but if I could I'd call her Smarty Farty. She has about stunk us out of this place. All day, everyday, and for the last week, she has passed so much rank gas that I looked around for something she could take. I think she's been eating people. She thinks it's HILARIOUS, but when she let's it go, we run. I may have Crohn's, but she gets that from her daddy.
I am working on some word sticks for Teagan and Neely. I am trying to come up with uses for them where we can use them in games as well as writing activities. I really want them to look at it as a game and it be one of their "go-to" things to do when they're bored. There are SO many things we can do with these sticks. It's almost endless. We can have spelling challenges or pick 10 sticks and write a silly poem. We can make a board game out of poster board. One person can pull the stick and the other can spell it. If they spell it correctly they move the number of spaces that is equivalent to how many letters are in the word. We can use them for mad libs. I am excited about these! We've got 150 in the box, but I need about 1000 more. =)
And not directly on homeschool, but kinda-sorta since I'll be eating it at lunch next week, I had this awesome post come through my facebook newsfeed. Salad in a jar! I am really bad about not eating anything until supper. I get busy and forget that I haven't had anything. I thought this was cute and easy and it'd leave no reason for me not to shake it up and put something on my belly. I'm not sure if it'll turn out tasty, but at least it's pretty to look at!
And since it's almost 3 am, I'm calling it a night!
