Notice Libby Liberstein in the background pretending to take a nap. =)
Teagan had a great time, too! She says she doesn't like math, but I don't know why. She knows how to do it just fine. So, to make it a little more interesting (and a little less boring and school-like) we only worked with the personal whiteboard and an expo marker. I wrote her out a problem and she did it. Then, I gave her the marker and said, "Alright, now you make me one." She thought that was a hoot. But it's really helping her to do that part of the number sentence as well. She thought she would be funny and make me one that was in the thousands, but I sure showed her! lol
Then I mentioned that she would be doing multiplication sometime this year and she wanted to know what that was. So I showed her some examples. When that was over she told me, "Well I already know two of them because I remember them from right now: 9X4 equals 36 and 2X3 equals 6." Multiplication is really where I will be certain they know their facts. I am going to drill them everyday when the time comes. A lesson learned.
We also worked on our Tree of Thanks again today. We are adding to it daily and will make it our centerpiece during Thanksgiving. We did that fun activity first today! I have a feeling it will need some major rearranging before it's over. It's looking a little lopsided. It was free to make, and I hope Raggedy Ann doesn't mind us using some of her hair....poor doll has been around since my Grandma Shumpert made her for me when I was just a wee little sprout.
