Homeschooling parents just have to find their groove. What works for one, may not work for another. I remember that all the time. There is not one particular way that schooling has to be done. The doors don't open at 7:30 and close at 2:30. I know that we will catch on and get organized and use our time wisely, but I am just wondering when that will be! I don't expect it to be anytime soon. I will give it until the end of the school year.... Certainly we will have a routine worked out that works for us by then. If we haven't, we'll just keep on groovin' and waitin'.
Today was a little harder than the first two days. Teagan and Neely work great together and each respect the one-on-one teaching time that I have to give. Libby was all over the place, naturally, squealing and getting into the things she not allowed to. After giving her some "special" toys, she was still making it hard for us. I decided that today I would do the one-on-ones first and separate. While I worked with Teagan in the classroom, Neely and Libby played in the living room. Then Teagan and Neely switched places. We had a couple of breaks in between because I don't want Libby to be completely banned. I want her to learn the routine too. Today, we waited for Principal Daddy to come home so we could do some together subjects. And tomorrow, we're taking science outside, first thing. That should be fun for all.
Oh, and the lesson plan I so tediously worked on until the wee hours of the morning...Yeah, it's shot. Haha! Back to the drawing board. One problem is that they already know the material in the first few lessons. I feel weird skipping any lessons because I don't want there to be gaps, but I think I'll have to do it with these first few. Teagan was bored the last two days complaining, "I already know this stuff. We did it last year."
No pictures today...unless you want one of this wild, crazy hair lady! ;)
