Neely's brunt of work was on phonics Saturday. We're ready for some new blends. We are using A Beka's "A Handbook for Reading" now. I ordered one on eBay for 4 bucks. I like it because it has organization. I feel better about teaching them something when there's a plan. I certainly don't want any gaps in what they're learning.
Now on to the problem I see us having....time. We get hung up on some subjects (most subjects) and end up going way over the amount of time I want to. By the time we finish one thing, they're ready for a break. Do some math, take a break. Do some spelling, take a break. They think break time is every 30 minutes! That's just not going to work. But you see, after we do math for what seems like forever, and it is like forever because we go for 45 mins to an hour, they do need a break. I am hoping our new friend will help us out. Meet Louise.
